He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Leah Burke Brent and Lester Harry Brent, Sr. of Brent's Barber Shop; his stepmother Mary Alice Brent; his siblings, Betty Leah Davis, Barbara Lewis and Thomas Julian Brent; and his grandson Cary McNeel Gilmore.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Bonner Brent; his daughters, Katherine Onder (Jeff) and Lesley Gilmore (Thomas); his grandchildren, Taylor (Megan), Caroline Onder and Alexander Brent Gilmore; and his siblings, Shirley B. Davis, Bonnie B. Anthony and Dennis Brent. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
