He is survived by: his mother Jane; his son James David Ludwig, Sr. (Katharine Vail Ludwig) of Crozet; his grandchildren, Katharine Elizabeth, James David Ludwig, Jr., Juelz and Jalaya Wiggins; and his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Redford (Bernard) of Florida, Jane Allison Brumfield of Wayne and Penn.
