He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Garrison "Bill" and Cordelia "Coty" Mundy Elder of Cullen, VA.; and his siblings, Milton J. Elder and Brenda E. Tharpe. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Jones Elder; his children, Nolan Garrison "Gary" Elder and Dr. Sarah Elder Fletcher (Zach) of St. John; his granddaughters, Elizabeth "Eliza" Winfield Fletcher and Margaret Rhodes Fletcher; his sister Jackie Scruggs-Dodd of Cullen; and his close friends, Brant Acree of Wylliesburg and Brenda T. Jarman of Cullen, VA.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
