He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Dixon Eggleston; his children, James E. "Jimmy" Eggleston, Jr. (Charlena) and Sharon Moore (Michael); his grandchildren, Serena Eggleston, Amber Jarrett (Chris), J. R. Eggleston (Charlotte), Beth Moore (Andrew Hamm), Douglas Moore and Savanna Moore; and his great grandchildren, Stephen Jarrett, Tristan Jarrett, Ernest Eggleston and Paityn Hamm.
