He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Jennings and Nettie Leigh Jennings; his wife Martha Jennings; his children, Robert Louis Jennings, Mary Ann Jennings and Faye Jennings; and his siblings, Waverly Jennings, Willie Roy Jennings, Annie Marshall, Grovine Jennings and Thelma Carr.
He is survived by: his children, James Jennings of Clover, Charlie Jennings (Cathy) of Lynchburg, Michael Jennings of South Boston and Pamela Sparrow (Jamie) of Roxboro, NC; his siblings, Louis Jennings (Clara) of Nathalie, James Jennings of Alexandria, Lenwood Barksdale of Suffolk, Elizabeth Wade of Hopewell and Queen Asher of Roxboro, NC; his sister-in-law Alma Jennings; and also Carmalita Escoto. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
