He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Collins and Woodrow Collins; his daughter Carolyn Scott; and his siblings, Mary Collins, Lucy Cash and Roy Collins.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph C. Collins (Cherie Murray) and Crystal Piercy (Will); his granddaughter Jessica Waters (Johnny); his great grandchildren, Alex and Ariel Waters; his stepgrandson Liam Piercy; his sisters, Gladys Sanner and Mary Ertel; and his spouse Shirley.
