With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Ellen Drake (Keswick, Virginia), born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on September 6, 2022 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Laura Riepe Gewecke; and her brother Jack Fearon. She is survived by: her friend Joan; her husband Lyman Drake; her daughters, Leslie Drake Newton (Robert), Meredith Ann Drake (Robert Alford) of Austin, Texas, Cynthia Drake Soltis (David Soltis) of Galloway and Laura Drake Flower (Michael Flower) of Wayne; her grandchildren, Stephanie Newton Johnson, Meredith Newton, Robert Newton, III, Corinne Alford, Maris Alford, Matthew Soltis, Valerie Soltis Coulter, Drake Flower, Caden Flower and Bryce Flower; and her great grandchild Graham Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that attendees please wear masks.
