He is survived by: his wife Mary Evelyn Burns of Kenbridge, VA; his son Chad Burns of Richmond, VA; his siblings, Annette Byrd (Doug) of Brunswick County, Juanita Burns of Brunswick County, Ricky Burns (Ethel) of Brunswick County and Wanda White (John) of Kenbridge, Virginia; his mother-in-law Mary Elizabeth White; his siblings-in-law, Thomas White, James White (Margaret), John White, Robert White, Carolyn Coleman (Wilbert) and Patricia Watkins; his nephews, Andre Burns, Kelvin Walker, Dexter Green, John White Jr., Marcus Burns and Tremayne Coleman; his godchildren, Wilbert Coleman Jr., Jaqueline Burns, Rhonda Moore, Chamika McKnight, Shonda Moore-Stevens, Tammy Moton and Tasha Foster; and his friends, Thomas Moseley, Joseph Grant and Melvin Lambert. He is also survived by great nieces/nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
