It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Mae Dow Harris (Kenbridge, Virginia), who passed away on November 18, 2018, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rubin, Sr. Dow and Serena Wallace Dow; and her siblings, David Dow and Bettie Dow Gunter. She is survived by: her son Ernest Hite; her sisters, Emma Hite, Susie Jones of Kenbridge and Mary Webb of Blackstone; her aunt Gladys McFadden; her uncle Gussie McFadden of Newark, NJ; her granddaughter Kadijah Hite of Kenbridge; her sister-in-law Shirley Hite Dow of Kenbridge; her nephew Wesley Dow; and her friend Carolyn Moore. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins along with many friends.
