She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Patterson Adams and Martha Glass Adams; and her former husband Stanley Perkins. She is survived by: her husband Robert Dean Nelson; her children, Dennis Perkins, Jr. (Evette) of New York, Sandra White of Florida, Patricia Perkins Williamson of Blackstone, VA, Sharon Nelson Wolfenbarger (Stan) of South Hill, VA and Bobby Jr. Nelson (Jackie) of Keysville, VA.; and her grandchildren, Stanley Perkins (Joanna), Terry Evans (Angel), Kerry White (Haley), Heath Williamson (Brittany), Kayla Jones (Blake), Taryn Cameron (Michael), Lauren Cozart (Kevin), Michele Adams (Anthony) and Robin Adams (Ryan). She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
