He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Harris Rainey and Sharpie Rainey; and his siblings, Lawrence, Cauline, Mae Pearl, Herman, Lucille, Pauline and Rowland.

He is survived by: his sister Fainey Crowder of Victoria, VA; his uncle David Harris (Mary); and his aunt Dorothy Rainey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
