He was predeceased by: his parents, George Howard and Ruby Mae Hurt Blackwell. He is survived by: his former wife Hazel Jones; his son Carl Anthony Blackwell (Rholynda Hamm); his former wife Mercedes De Guzman Pablo; his wife Mercy; his grandson Reece Blackwell; and his siblings, JoAnn Edmonds (Sam), George (Doris), Mark (Sheila) and David (Christine). He is also survived by four nieces and four nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
