He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mitchell and Annie Pearl Mitchell; and his grandmother Laura Hayes. He is survived by: his son Calvin Mitchell, Jr.; his stepdaughter Angela Maddox; his siblings, Annie Epps, Velma Mitchell, Thelma Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Sid Mitchell; his sisters-in-law, Madeline Davis, Rosa Jennings, Dorothy Rainey and Mandy Williams; and his close friends, Jimmy Davis, Leon Jones, Barbara Jones, Mary Irby, Daniel Walker, Sherwin Tisdale and Rev. Yvonne Bridgeforth. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives.
