He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Henry Hawkins Sr. and Pauline Rodgers Hawkins; and his brothers, Roy "Peanut" Hawkins and William "Bill" Hawkins. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Knupp Hawkins; his daughters, Elizabeth Annette Hicks (Robert) of Linville and Catherine Hawkins Blaine (Terry) of Broadway; his siblings, Jerry "Pete" Hawkins of McGaheysville, Helen Breeden of McGaheysville and Ruby Styer of Ephrata; his grandchildren, Tara Hottinger (Jeremy), Megan Summers (Greg Will), Adam Heatwole (Ashlie) and Travis Summers (Lillian); and his great grandchildren, Jeremiah Hottinger, Adriene Cline, Carson Summers, Carter Will, Reagan Summers and Saylor Summers.
