He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Fields and Marian Fields (Clark); his wife Maudie Mae Fields (Lambert); and his brothers, Ralph Fields and Rondal Fields.
He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Michael Fields and Harold Ray Fields (Nancy) of Statesville, NC; his grandson Alex Fields (Tamara) of Charlotte, NC; and his siblings, Carol Seale of Jonesville, VA, Tommy Fields of Jonesville, VA and Gene Fields (Betsy) of Jonesville, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 9:50 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Powell Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ballad Cancer Center for research (2202 N. John B. Dennis Hwy #100 Kingsport TN., 37660) or to the First Baptist Church of Jonesville Building Fund (33482 Main St. Jonesville, VA 24263).
