He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hopkins and Nettie Mae Hopkins; his brother Jack Neff Hopkins; his daughter Judy Bustamante; and his wife Natella Hopkins.

He is survived by: his children, Jack Hopkins (Cindy) and Janet Hathaway (Glenn); his grandchildren, Adrienne Harbarger (Dave), Ryan Hathaway, Greg Hopkins (Morgan), Rebecca Richardson (Eddie) and Luke Hopkins (Riley); and his great grandchildren, Cash Harbarger, Rex Harbarger, Riley Richardson, Harrison Hopkins and Mallory Hopkins.
