With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charlotte Gwen Lay of Jonesville, Virginia, who passed away on May 24, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father George E. "Babe" Williams; her husband Ulysses Lay; her daughter Robin Lay; and her siblings, Howard White Williams, Henry S. "Cy" Williams, Billy "Hoot" Williams, Reed Williams and Myrna Dean.
She is survived by: her children, Barry Lay of Jonesville, William Lay of Jonesville and Pam Chambers (Martin) of Knoxville, TN; her grandchildren, Barry Ryan Middleton (Elmyra) of Oneida, KY, Reuben Lay of Jonesville, Alexander Chambers (Rachel) of Knoxville, TN, Rebecca Lay of Johnson City, TN and Angela Lay of Elizabethton, TN; her great grandchildren, Mason, Damon, Caroline, Blair, Gavin, Chase and Joseph; and her sister-in-law Judy Williams. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
