He was predeceased by: his parents, William Walter Marcum and Vina Marcum (Eagle); his wife Hazel Ann Marcum; his son James Marcum; his siblings, Fannie, Betty June Marcum, Margaret Phillips and Robert "Bob" Marcum; and his half-brothers, Hobert, Billy Phillips, Albert and Willis Marcum.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Parsons (Wayne), Susan Shoemaker and Mitchell Marcum (Dawn); his grandchildren, Kimberly Hounshell (Jordan), Ashley Mullins (James), Joshua Shoemaker (Ashleigh), Jacob Shoemaker and Carlee Marcum; his great grandchildren, Maddox Hounshell, Maci Hounshell, Jase Mullins and Jeremiah Shoemaker; and his sisters, Joann Osborne, Sue Mapp and Janice Vanzant. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mullins-Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at the Woodward Cemetery.
