He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lewis and Martha Lewis; and his siblings, Patricia "Pat" Lewis, Charles Lewis and Thomas "Buck" Lewis, Jr..

He is survived by: his siblings, Rose Mary Lewis of Jonesville, VA and Geoffrey Lewis (Doris) of Ewing, VA; his nieces and nephews, Leslie Clasby (Don), Fred Lewis, Al Lewis (Angie), Emily Smith (Jeffery Alsup), Joey Lewis, Nolan Lewis and Dylan Lewis; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kenzie, Lizzy, Andrew, Ashlee, Kaitlyn, Brianna, Kelsie and Dalton.
