He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Cantrell and Thelma Bernice Cordle Cantrell; his son Johnny Dillon Cantrell; and his brother Harvey Cantrell. He is survived by: his wife Diana Keene Cantrell; his children, Carol Ann Cantrell of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Annette Horn (Lance) of Jewell Ridge, Virginia and Daniel Cantrell (Heather Street) of Jewell Ridge, Virginia; his siblings, Sue Hughes of Dayton, Ellen Horn (Mike Brizendine) of New Castle, Virginia Evelyn Perkins (Danny) of Swords Creek, Virginia and Don Ray Cantrell of Tallahassee, Florida; his grandchildren, Tyler Griffith, Makynzee Cantrell, Colton Horn, Madison Cantrell, Shylah Cantrell, Sierra Cantrell, Gideon Horn and Ethan Cantrell; and his great grandchildren, Blakely Hess, Carter VanHoozer and Vada VanHoozer.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home (1401 2nd St, Richlands, VA 24641). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
