He was predeceased by: his parents, Ershell Orville Columbus and Dorothy Iris Stiltner Vance of Jewell Ridge, Virginia; his former wife Lisa Kay Reynolds Vance; and his brothers, Scott Vance and Alex Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Marie Vance of Richlands, Virginia; his children, Vicki Vance Wells (Gabriel) of Ohio, Leeanna Marie Elder (Robert Ryan) of Richlands, Tonya Marie Shortt of Richlands, David Sylvester Woody (Rhiannon "Ree" Smith) of Pounding Mill, Steven Matthew Vance (Cheryl) of Grundy and Jessie Lee Woody (Cynthia) of Claypool Hill, Virginia; and his siblings, Charlene Pinkerton (Jerry), Sandy Dye and Kenny Thomas (Marsha). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
