He was predeceased by: his parents, Hassel Smith and Betty Jane Lester Smith; his brother Dennis C. Smith (Jerry Andrew Smith); and his stepson Billy Asbury, Jr.. He is survived by: his siblings, Stuard Smith (Wendy) and Lisa Powers (James) of Alcoa, TN; his daughters, Deana Smith (David Peck) and Becky Vaughter (Adam); and his sisters-in-law, Debbie Smith of Jewell Ridge, VA and Mary Smith of Troutville, VA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter.
