Though Billy may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Billy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph E. Bates, Jr. and Margaret Frances Roberts; and his wife Ruth Ann Bates. He is survived by: his children, William Thomas Bates, Jr. (Kim Curtis) and Nancy Russick (Paul Goldin); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Bates (Jake Ronza), Will Bates (Alle Willard) and Brooklyn Evans (Danny Evans).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Moser Funeral Home, Inc. (233 Broadview Ave, Warrenton, VA 20186). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Stonewall Memory Gardens (12004 Lee Hwy, Manassas, VA 20109). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at 380 Broadview Ave, Warrenton, VA 20186.
