He was predeceased by: his parents, James Howard Richardson and Louise O'Berry Richardson; and his siblings, James "PeeWee" Richardson and Vivian R. Wright. He is survived by: his wife Betty Abernathy Richardson of Dolphin, VA; his children, David R. Richardson (Robin) of Jarratt, VA., Ann R. Tyus (Charles) of Jarratt and Lori R. Bradley (Ellery) of Richmond, VA.; his grandsons, Charles J. Tyus Jr. (Chuck) and Brock A. Tyus (Sarah) of Phoenix, NY.; his sister Patricia R. Beville of Richmond; and his aunt Thelma R. Simmons of Emporia, VA.. He is also survived by Extended family includes numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Home (303 S Halifax Rd, Jarratt, VA 23867). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the High Hills Baptist Church Cemetery (215 N Halifax Rd, Jarratt, VA 23867).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to High Hills Baptist Church, P.O. Box 296, Jarratt, Virginia 23867.
