She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel Sykes; her son Samuel Owen Sykes; and her siblings, Patricia, Hazel, Mildred, Margie, Gretchen, Charles and Julian.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Delatte (Alex), Linwood Sykes (Allyson) and Donald Ray Sykes; her daughter-in-law Linda Sykes; her grandchildren, Wendi Briggs (Michael), Dwayne Summerlin (Christy), Samuel Owen Sykes, Jr., Ashley Frescatore (Rob), Amanda Sykes, Travis Sykes (Lyndsey), Brian Sykes (Kayla), Chrisopher Sykes and Jessica Sykes; and her great grandchildren, Dillon (Maggie), Kaitlin (Jake), Casey and Sophia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Home (303 S Halifax Rd, Jarratt, VA 23867).
