With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sidney Roscoe Simms of Ivor, Virginia, who passed away on August 16, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Wilson Simms and Bertha Jones Simms; his son Rodney Scott Simms; and his siblings, Pearl Simms, Patricia Parker and Randy Simms.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Babb Simms; his son Lance Simms (Amy); his sisters, Judy Turner (Roland) and Luanne White (Johnny); his grandsons, Brendan and Bryce Simms; his niece Angie Mavredes (Michael); and his nephews, Travis Butler, David Turner and Chris Turner.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Courtland Youth Athletic Association, 24224 Storys Station Rd., Courtland, VA 23837.
