She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Lonnie and Mary Anna Whitley Brett; her husbands, Gurnie Dayton Britt and Samuel Woodson Oakes; and her siblings, Josie Butler, Gracie Gray Story, Herbert Britt, Loyd Britt, James Britt, Archie Britt and Florrie Britt.
She is survived by: her sons, Russell Dayton Britt (Virginia) of Ivor and Nelson Dale Britt (Lisa) of Colonial Heights, VA; her grandchildren, Christy Lynch (Jim) of Suffolk, Nancy Dover (Tommy) of Temple, Georgia, Joanne Joyner (Len) of Ivor, Nathan Britt (Braigen) of Lexington, VA and Austin Britt of Richmond; her great grandchildren, Hillarie Garner, Janice Vann (Randy), Justin Harrup (Elizabeth) and Josh Harrup (Lindsay); and her great great grandchildren, Hayden Vann, Madison Vann, Peyton Garner, Carson Garner, Dayton Harrup, Hadley Harrup, Tyler Maitland and Hunter Karp.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the R. W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory (11414 General Mahone Hwy, Wakefield, VA 23888). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church (37527 Seacock Chapel Rd, Zuni, VA 23898). A burial will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Ivor Cemetery (8750 Ivor Rd, Ivor, VA 23866).
