He was predeceased by: his parents, Elma Dean Bryant and Edward A. Mason Sr.; his wife Margaret "Janie" Persinger Mason; his son Stephen Allen Mason; and his granddaughter Kaleigha Paige Mason.
He is survived by: his children, Crystal Lynn Mason of Ivor, VA and Edward A. "Shane" Mason III of Kalamazoo, MI; his grandchildren, Nathan, Eli, Caleb, Jett and Brylee Mason; his great grandchildren, Joshua Benton (JT), Zora Mason and Elizabeth Hoopaw; his siblings, Teresa Bracey Adams (Leslie) of Chesapeake, VA and Douglas Wayne Mason (Judi) of San Antonio, TX; and his uncle Eggie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
