She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, George Lilton and Ella Mae Munford Pierce; her husband Wayne Ellis; her children, Janet Ellis Carpenter (Ronnie) of Midland and Douglas Wayne Ellis, Jr. (Beverly) of Ivor; her siblings, Betty Modlin of Franklin, Nancy Howell (RA) of Windsor, Pat Hairston (Chip) of Roanoke and Donnie "Buddy" Pierce (Marcia) of Windsor; her grandchildren, Coley Carpenter, Meaghan and Hunter Ellis; and her sister-in-law Brenda Bradshaw of Sedley.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
