He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter A. Dunford and Helen Bowers Dunford; his daughter Dovie Malinda Dunford; and his siblings, Mary Marie Dunford, Helen Aline Blair, Willie Louise Davis, Carolyn Sue Stroupe, Phyllis Juanita Sayers, Debra Faye Ruiz and William Edward Dunford.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Dunford; his children, Michael Wayne Dunford of Baltimore, MD, Mary Marie Hallameyer (Paul) of Ivanhoe, VA and Walter Dunford Jr. of Annapolis, MD; his sisters, Gene Alice Stroupe of Fries, VA, Frances Maxine Stroupe of Wytheville, VA, Edna Evelyn Furguson of Radford, VA, Patricia Ann Goodson of Wytheville, VA and Janice Darlene Funk of Ivanhoe, VA; and his grandchildren, Michael Wayne Dunford Jr., Robert Michael Dunford, Brian Wayne Dunford, Jessica Leigh Dunford, Charles Christopher Lednum, Paul Michael Patrick Hallameyer Jr., Michelle Lynn Hallameyer, Katrina Ann Dunford, Walter Franklin Dunford III and Fallon Dunford. He is also survived by several Great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Reese Funeral Home (2214 Austinville Rd, Austinville, VA 24312). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Fellowship Baptist Church. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
