He was predeceased by: his parents, William Buerion (Bill) and Betty Lee Edwards Cox; and his son Christopher Litteral. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Elaine Litteral (Cindy); his children, Miranda Cox and Justin Cox of Ivanhoe, Virginia; his sisters, Frances Ferguson of Galax, Virginia and Ruth Cox of Galax, Virginia; his granddaughter Macie Rose Hanks; his nephews, Ben Ferguson and Laymond Ferguson; his father-in-law Benny Litteral of Ivanhoe, Virginia.; and also, Jennifer, Johnny Walker and Heather Cox.
