He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mathews and Maggie Doughton Mathews; his wife Audrey Mullins Mathews; and his son Paul W. Mathews. He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy (Tony Stafford) and Melessa (Gary McClain); and his sister Ella Mae McDonald of Commerce, GA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.
