She was predeceased by: her parents, James Thomas and Josephine Elizabeth Thorton Mills; and her brother Gary Lee Mills. She is survived by: her husband Eddie Porter of Ivanhoe; her daughters, Kathy (James Holbrook) and Sharon McQuerry; her stepson Robbie (Debbie King); her siblings, Patricia Reynolds, Shirley (Lance Hunt), Larry (Teresa Mills) and Ronnie Mills (Nancy Spraker); her sister-in-law Paula Sheffey; her grandsons, Eric (Amanda Hudgins) and Brandon Palmer (Jessica Boyd); her stepgrandson Josh King; and her great grandchildren, Dawson Hudgins, Gabby Runyon Gordon (Tyler) and Brandon Blair (Jasmine). She is also survived by four great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Grubb Funeral Home (215 S 6th St, Wytheville, VA 24382). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
