He was predeceased by: his parents, Lestle Archer and Mary Belle Taylor Archer; and his siblings, Mildred Ford, Billy Archer, Carlton Junior Archer and Robert Archer.
He is survived by: his wife Mona Ann Archer; his daughters, Allison Crab, Rachel (Eugene Kolb), Beverly Youngblood of Laurel Fork, VA and Melinda (Jody Bowman); his siblings, Patsy (LeRoy Bourne), Edna Pearman of Ivanhoe, VA, Gene (Tina Archer) and Thomas Archer of Baywood, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Sue (Michael Chappell) and Virgil (Carol Bond). He is also survived by five grandsons; one granddaughter, and one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.
