He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Mortimer Williams and Frances Lee Williams; his wife Katherine Ryland Williams; his children, David Lee Williams of Carlisle, PA, Phillip Lee Williams of Irvington, VA, Jenny Williams Robinson of Lynden, WA and Frances Williams Butler of Centennial, CO; his stepchildren, Katherine Kimball of West Lebanon, NH and Frederick Brune of Bellingham, WA.; his son Dr. Howard Sawyer Williams of Baltimore; and his brother John McDonald Williams of Irvington. He was also cherished by twelve grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Steamboat Era Museum in Irvington, VA 22480.
