He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Strebel and Mary Strebel; his son David; and his sister Carole Lee Kuhn. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline; his daughters, Debra (Tyrone Wall) and Diane Wilson (Jace); his grandchildren, Tafari, Hannah, Jamilah, Jennah, Hawwa, Siddiquah, Isa and Hashem Wall; and his brother Gary (Jane).
