It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alvin Carstensen of Irvington, Virginia, born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, who passed away on June 20, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Carstensen and Agatha Carstensen (Ohm); and his siblings, Margaret Brase, Dorothy Caine and Robert Carstensen.

He is survived by: his wife Marie; his daughters, Sherry Bonner of Silver Springs, MD and Kristine Carstensen of Charleston, SC.; his grandchildren, Thomas Carstensen, Maria Carstensen, Andrew Running and Elizabeth Running; his great grandchild Stefan; and his brother Jerry Carstensen (Mary).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Light of Christ Anglican Church, Heathsville, VA.
