He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Bob" Bryan Patterson Jr. and Mae Katherine Brown Patterson; and his sister Perian Patterson Moose (Thomas Moose). He is survived by: his wife Ellen Ferguson Patterson; his children, Wesley Patterson (Ellie), Trent Patterson and Anne Katherine Patterson (Griffin); and his brothers, Robert "Bo" Bryan Patterson, III (Carol), John Hollis Patterson (Deborah) and David Moore Patterson (Catherine).
