He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Theodore and Lucile Ward Cummings; his wife Judy S. Cummings; his daughter Holly Cummings of Independence; his siblings, Greg (Esther Cummings) and Janice Cummings of Clemmons, NC; his grandson Ben Hill of Independence; his siblings-in-law, Dolly Moss of Galax, VA and Jesse Smith of Mouth; his niece Tiffany Cummings of Walburg, NC; and his close friends, Dusty Martin and Don Mendes. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Independence Rescue Squad or Independence Fire Department.
