Mildred Porter Anderson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Porter Anderson of Independence, Virginia, who passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Robert and Ary Katherine Bonham Porter; her husband Cecil Garland Anderson; her son-in-law Sonny Kinzer; and her siblings, Ethel Funk, Raymond Porter and Bruce Porter.
She is survived by: her daughter Katherine Kinzer of Independence Virginia; her brother Kermit Porter of Galax, Virginia; her granddaughter Joni (Justin Spurlin); her stepgrandson Michael (Bridget Kinzer); her great grandchildren, Maci Spurlin, Dakota, Isabella and Selena Kinzer; her close friends, Pete and Cindy Roten; and her pet Snuggles. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Baptist Union Church Cemetery.
