He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bascom Peeples, Sr. and Wanda Louise Pool Peeples; and his daughter Johnni Peeples. He is survived by: his wife Iris B. Peeples; his children, Lance John (Sunni Peeples), Brandi (Eugene Widner) and Lona Louise Peeples of Independence; and his siblings, Robert (Lucille Peeples), Constance Davis of Texas, Sheila (Gerardo Gonzalez) and Terry Freeman of Texas. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
