He was predeceased by: his parents, Gwyn Boyer and Della Phipps Boyer; and his wife Frances Miller Boyer. He is survived by: his daughters, Peggy (Wade Billings), Patsy (Charles Sturgill) and Debra (Ricky Edwards); his brother-in-law Ralph (Sue Miller); his grandchildren, Vanessa, David Fant of Galax, VA, Paula, Dwight Carter of Galax, Virginia, Lynn, James Monahan of Wytheville, VA, Shannon Edwards of Purcellville, VA, Angie and Derrick Douglas of Crumpler; his great grandchildren, Tucker Carter, Kale Carter, Phoebe Fant, Vivian Fant, Thomas Fant, Ethan Monahan, Luke Monahan, Sabe Douglas, Lettie Jo Douglas, Grayson Edwards and Ava Grace Edwards; and his close friend Phil Horton. He is also survived by husband and loving father to his three girls.
