He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Wood and Annie Marie Goff Wood; his wife Wilda Lee Ayers Wood; his son Thurmond Wood; and his siblings, Fred Wood, Jimmy Wood, Norma Jean Richards and Mary Trent.
He is survived by: his children, James Wood of Gretna, Leona Rowland of Grit and Theresa Myers (Kenneth) of Hurt; his siblings, Walter Wood of Bedford and Nellie Barker of West Virginia; and his grandchildren, Alisha, Elizabeth, Cody, Kaitlyn, Delta, Tawny, Betty Jean, Cheyenne and Jacob. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
