He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy William McGhee and Hilda Bennette Dalton Brown; his wife Shirley McGhee of Virginia; his stepsons, Mark Green and Jeff Green; and his brothers, Oscar Dalton and Donnie McGhee.
He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Redd of Roxboro, NC; his stepchildren, Tim Green (Penny) of Gretna, Debbie Layne of Hurt and Sharon Pennington of Metairie, LA; and his siblings, James McGhee of Gretna, Betty Bravo of Gretna, Carolyn Kendrick of Chatham, Cathy Millhouse of Asheville, NC and Joyce McGhee of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
