He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Edward Layne and Mary Pribble Layne of Virginia; and his brothers, James Layne and Jerry Layne. He is survived by: his siblings, Shirley Elliott (Ryland) of Rustburg and Michael Layne (Patricia "Trickie" Wilson); and his girlfriend Gail Simpson.
