He is survived by: his parent Mary Doss Irby; his wife Betty Scruggs Irby; his daughter Susan McCormick (Walter) of Hurt; his sisters, Nola Scearce of Danville, Ora Blanks of Hurt and Esther Pearson of Danville; and his grandchild Courtney Rae McCormick of Hurt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
