She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney Kidd and Lillie Mae Hall Kidd; her son Elton Short, Jr.; her grandson Michael Bibee; and her siblings, Carter Kidd, Gilliam Kidd, Harrison Kidd, Willie Kidd, Edward Kidd, Walter Kidd, Elizabeth Briles, Mary Compton, Janie Page and Lillian Allen.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Short (Jeanette) of Gretna, Edith Kidd of Altavista, Ann Cline of Hurt, Linda Hailey of Evington, Brenda Bibee (Clarence) of Hurt and Debra Short of Hurt. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
