She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lee Richardson and Lorene Torrence Richardson; her husband Marshall Lee Thornton; her daughter Tara Lee Dunnam; and her sister Eleanor Richardson Moore (Lorie Wilson Moore).
She is survived by: her granddaughter Elizabeth Thornton; her great grandchildren, Skylar Fox, Tygir Gillispie, Kairi Schaefer and Thadius Schaefer; and her close friend Richard Gallier. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
