It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Lee Slayton Sr. of Hurt, Virginia, who passed away on April 24, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Slayton and Adell Poindexter Slayton; his siblings, Gary Slayton, Brenda Slayton, Linda Tucker and Patricia Lovelace; and his brother-in-law Eugene DeJarnette.
He is survived by: his wife Crystal Hunt Slayton; his son Larry Slayton, Jr. of Hurt, Virginia; his siblings, Robert Slayton (Zenovia) of Long Island, Howard Slayton (Cynthia) of Hurt, David Slayton (Barbara) of Long Island, Virginia, Jessie Mae DeJarnette of Gretna, Delores Hunt (Robert) of Hurt, Elores Clements (Keith) of Hurt and Arlene Miller (Steve) of Long Island, Virginia; his siblings-in-law, Jerry Lovelace, James Lewis Tucker, Frances Slayton, Sandra Monroe (Isaac Monroe), Darline Hall (Joseph) and Stephanie Hunt-White (Larry); and his aunts, Patsy Davis, Arlene Davis, Louise Callands, Estelle Hall, Juanita Hall, Shelia Poindexter and Patricia Poindexter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
