He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood E. Moorefield, Sr. and Estelle Francis Moorefield; his son Ricky D. Moorefield; his grandson Kendall Ray Moorefield; and his siblings, Elwood E. Moorefield, Jr., Larry F. Moorefield, James R. Moorefield, Danny K. Moorefield and Geroline Jennings.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Pugh Moorefield; his son Michael C. Moorefield (Pamala) of Hurt; his brother Ronald Moorefield of Forest; his daughter-in-law Ellen Oakes Moorefield of Hurt; his grandchildren, Daniel K. Moorefield of Hurt, Paige M. Harris (Michael) of Bedford, Mason L. Moorefield of Hurt and Ellery T. Moorefield of Hurt; and his great grandchild Allie Ramona Harris.
